Richard McKeon YOUNG 43, of Ketchum,
ID. drowned in a tragic accident in Maui on January 13,
2004. He had been vacationing with his special friend and partner,
Sarah Owens. Born on June 5,
1960 in San Pedro, Ca., he was the oldest of four children of Jeanne
Lovejoy Johnson of Kirkland,
WA. and Donald Young of Sierra Vista, AZ. Richard graduated from West
Seattle High School in
1978. He received a degree in the Classics with a minor in Languages
from the University of
Washington in 1991. He spent 24 years in the restaurant business and
was co-owner of il Naso
restaurant in Ketchum, ID. with his long time friend and business
partner, Jill Buchanan. Richard is
survived by his mother and father, son Connor Concanon Young, Michelle
Thomas (Connor's mom),
step-mother Helena Young, brothers Tim (Megan), Jason (Antonietta),
sister Susan Sayler (Tim),
step-brother Tom Goessman, step-sister Christin Healy, three
step-sisters and 11 nieces and nephews.
Richard was a free spirit, an independent born leader. He would be the
first into the water because
he was fearless. He was invincible, or so we thought. Richard, you made
our lives richer by your
presence, your friendship and your love. Your smile and laugh will be
in our hearts forever. We love
you and miss you. Services will be held in Ketchum, ID. on Monday,
January 19th, 4:00 p.m. at the
Episcopal Church and on Saturday, January 24th, 2:00 p.m. at the Center
for Spiritual Living, 5801
Sandpoint Way N.E., Seattle, WA.
