Preface
Little did I know that when I moved the
contents of my Macomb residence at 301 North
Johnson into the Church and School of
International Detente situated at 13-14 Cedar
Drive in the late summer of 1999 that
individuals would have those same contents sold
at public auction on September 14, 2000.
I had purchased the 301 house in 1973.
I was within a few years of paying off the
mortgage when Citizens National Bank
of Macomb, under the direction of Timothy
Flemming forced me to sell the house
or have it taken in a foreclosure sale. When I was
forced to move the contents they consisted
of my entire life work. An accumulation of
various things including art and artifacts
from around the world. Most of my own art
and most of my journals and of course
all of my personal and business records.
Preparing a listing of your life works
is difficult for a number of reasons. First of all
it is hard to remember just what all
one has accumulated in half a century. Indeed it is
obviously impossible to fully recall.
Second of all it is extremely painful. Painful, not
because the memories associated with
the materials lost is painful, although there are
some where that is the case, but rather
because one knows that the more real sense of
contact that a picture or an original
writing can never be had again. The tangible basis
of a memory is gone.
Being an writer and researcher by profession,
it is difficult to do anything meaningful
when your data base is taken and destroyed.
Extensive data bases built over a period
of many years became another part of
a landfill or were burned under the direction of
Virgil Mittelberg. Mittelberg miss represented
to the Circuit Court that the belongings
left in the church were mostly pornographic
in nature and of little value. Mittelberg was
pleased with his deception. Earlier
he had committed the ultimate gambit as a wheeling
dealing buyer of delinquent taxes. He
had found a church property that the county failed
to give the tax exempt status it was
entitled to. For a couple thousand dollars he could
take a position on half the church and
end up with a townhouse worth seventy thousand
dollars. (The county also choose not
to recognize that when the church acquired the
property the two townhomes had been
combined into a single unit and should have been
taxed as such even though the deed was
registered so in the county courthouse.)
Efforts made to block the taking and
eventual sale and destruction of my personal
property collected over a lifetime were
unsuccessful. In retrospect I now understand the
extent of corruption and incompetence
that permeated the community of Macomb,
Illinois. That is another story and
one that is told in some detail in other books about
the experience of being Dr. Leisure.
This compilation has been done to assist
those individuals who have ended up with
things and such that really belong to
me and the Church and School of International
Detente. Powerful forces tied to the
universe itself are at work trying to bring back into
harmony the disruptions caused by the
likes of Mittelberg and others by their actions.
Regrettably many will die as balance
is returned. Some people believe that by returning
the various items taken from the sacred
ground of the church back to that sacred ground
that they can redeem themselves. While
my experience with the forces at work here
suggest that will not make any difference,
I can not in good conscious discourage such
action. I have published this compendium
in the hope it may be useful for those that
want to cleanse their soul and conscious
by returning items wrongfully taken.

THE CHURCH AND SCHOOL OF INTERNATIONAL DETENTE
The Church and School of International
Detente acquired the property at 13-14 Cedar
Drive in 1995. The Church consisted
of two townhomes that had been combined into
a single integrated unit by removing
an interior wall that separated the units.
Church functions were held exclusively
in the church from approximately 1998 to July
2000.
In 1999 the Church leased the building
to Dr. George R. Harker as a place to keep his
possessions since being forced out of
his Macomb residence at 301 N. Johnson by the
actions of Citizens National Bank of
Macomb.
The church property was consecrated and
sanctified in 1995. There is a strong tie
between the Church and Maui.
Under Church practice and belief there
is a direct connection between Maui and the
Macomb property. The Church embraces
many of the basic belief systems underlying
the old religion of Hawaii and the Polynesia.
Church doctrine is build on the teachings
of Aristotle.
RETURN OF CHURCH PROPERTY OR ANYTHING
TAKEN FROM THE
CHURCH
Any item taken from the church property
under the protection of the Kapu takes with
it the penalties associated with the
item taken. In most cases that penalty is death.
In other words any item taken and sold
or passed on to another individual carries the
same consequences. Thus any individual
who has the misfortune of acquiring property
taken from the church is also subject
to death.
Breaking the taboos regarding removal
of the protected items will result in adversity for
the individuals involved. Unfortunately
that adversity is not limited to the individuals
directly responsible but also applies
to their family and indeed everyone associated with
their blood line. The unknowing recipients
of the items taken will also come under the
Kapu.
Some believe that the only way to be
released from this curse is to quietly and
respectively return the items taken
back to the sacred ground from which they were
taken.
The concept is not unlike the belief
in Hawaii that to remove lava from the islands is
to bring ill will on to the person who
has taken it.
The Church property was obtained free
and clear of any encumbrances. As a church
formed under the provision of Illinois
law it was entitled to certain tax exemptions.
Unsubstantiated reports continue to come
in from individuals that knowingly or
unknowingly came into contact with articles
taken from the Church. The stories of their
misfortune are disconcerting at best.
People Known to have Broken Kapu
All people coming in physical contact
either intentionally or unintentionally
with anything that had been within the
church.
Some people believe that the effects
of the Kapu can be circumvented by
returning materials to the church. Others
assert this has no effect and the individuals
must bear the consequence of their actions
for ever. Only in future lives will the
imbalance in their karma be able to
readjust.

The Church and School of International
Detente was created in 1995.
Articles of Association were filed at
the McDonough County Court House.
The Church building consisted of
two townhomes which had been acquired
years before by Dr. George R. Harker.
In fact the townhome at 13 Cedar Drive had
been Harker’s Macomb residence from
1977 To 1995. The second townhome was
acquired by Dr. Harker in 1989.
The two homes were combined
by removing an interior wall which
separated the units. With the interior
wall removed the main floor of the structure
could easily accommodate meetings of
fifty to seventy-five people. The upper floors
of the Church included five bedrooms.
The structure had two full bathrooms and
four partial bathrooms.
Church property was sanctified
in the Spring of 1996. Elements of
Polynesia culture were incorporated
into the sanctification process. Many of the
ancient Polynesian gods are associated
with protecting the ground.
Indeed the Church and it’s contents
are protected by Kapu. Kapu is a taboo
or prohibition. Kapu is a recognition
of the sacredness of the place and its contents.
To interfere with the Kapu has severe
implications for the individuals involved.
The Church and School of International
Detente is based on the teaching of
Aristotle. The Church and School looks
to understand all religions within the context
of Aristotle and his teaching.
Holistic health and healing practices
of Polynesia. There is a very direct and
strong link between the Church in Macomb
and the island of Maui. Much of the
Huna tradition of the ancient Polynesians
has been incorporated into the teaching
and practices of the Church of International
Detente.

The papers necessary to do business are
numerous. Below are some of those that have
been taken and presumably destroyed.
Incorporation Papers - Dr. Leisure
is a sole proprietary business and not incorporated.
Nevertheless a collection of documents
was collected in the event that incorporation
looked like the way to go.
Trade Mark Registration - Dr. Leisure
was a registered trademark in 2000. All the
documentation and the appropriate forms
to achieve this status were among the
documents taken. The documents contained
information of the requirements that must
be met to retain the Dr. Leisure registration.
Although the initial registration is for ten
years there is a requirement that the
material be updated at the half way point and some
additional fees paid.
Consumer Product Code Registration Material
- once again a fee is paid to establish a
consumer product code. Information on
how the code is prepared and how it is to be
used is contained in a number of manuals
that come with registration.
Web Site Domain Registration - Original
documentation associated with registration
of DrLeisure.com.
Universal Product Code Registration -
May be the same as the Consumer Product Code
referred to above.
Canadian Import License - in the mid
to late 1990's a Canadian Import License was
obtained. The specifics of what this
license covered and what it did not is in the
documentation taken September of 2000.
International Standard Book Number (ISBN)
The application forms and supporting
information associated with the ISBN
process was among the material taken.
Galley Proofs and production documents
- The original art and manuscripts associated
with these documents were among the
materials taken.

STATE
PARK REGULATIONS - ALL FIFTY STATES
50 State park regulations collection
As part of my research into the
matter of public nudity I wrote all fifty states
regarding their policy on nude bathing.
What I had was a most comprehensive
collection of state park regulations.
With the possible exception of two states,
Mississippi and New Hampshire (I think!),
I had all the state park regulations. At some
point I intended to do an analysis of
the material. At the very least it would have been
a great collection for a research library
involved in recreation and parks research.
STATE STATUTES REGARDING NUDITY
I compiled this information in
1989. At the time I am sure I was the only one
to have done so. Since then others have
pulled bits and pieces of this information
together. None of the other material
I have seen has been as complete as the collection
that I had developed.

Robert Reinertson and Joseph Silvestor Material
Among the materials in my collection
of legal documents were documents
involved with WIU working over Robert
Reinertsen and Joe Silvestor
Reinertsen was involved in litigation
with Robert Rittenmeyer. Interesting the
university would pay both parties in
this matter thousands of dollars and would never
pay me a cent.
Reinertsen assisted me in the early
days and helped me launch my first lawsuit.
Later he would follow my lead and defend
himself in litigation involving his alleged
assault on another instructor.
In court Bob prevailed and was
acquitted by a jury of his peers.
Extensive documentation of these
events were among the materials taken and
destroyed from the Church and School
of International Detente in September 2000.
Live Like a Dolphin -uncompleted
manuscript - premise is that individual is fascinated
by dolphins is in the process of transforming
and doesn’t even know it!
In support of this effort numerous
material collected on dolphins. Photocopies
of a number of studies.
Manuscript - Life Story by Arlene Robinson
Dear friend Arlene Robinson’s
life story. Given to me for review and eventual
publication. As a child Arlene went
blind and then recovered her eyesight. A remarkable
story about a remarkable woman.
Manuscript - Greg Billingsly -
Frozen embryo switch story
A manuscript by Billingsly where
the switch of a frozen embryo explains
events which include murder. A great
screenplay in development.
Manuscript - George S. Harker - WW2 Day

at Normandy. His division hit the beach on

of the carnage from the previous day.

COMPLETE COLLECTION OF
COURT TV RECORDING OF O. J. SIMPSON
TRIAL
Nearly complete collection of the trial
of OJ Simpson as seen on Court TV. Seeing the
whole trial evolve as presented on Court
TV the not guilty verdict was inevitable and
predictable. Having served on a number
of juries myself I new when the jury came in
and how they handled themselves that
they would acquit.
While popular current opinion seems to
believe that OJ did it, the evidence presented
in court raises lots of questions that
for me are still unanswered.
At some point I had intended to develop a story out of this collection.

1930+ Player Piano (restored in excellent condition)
The player piano was acquired in the late
seventies. It had been refinished and refurbished by Rod
Twidwell. In the late 1980 I had the felt on the hammers
redone. The machine was in excellent condition.
About a dozen original player roles came with the
machine. Over the years I added a number of rolls from
QRS. Ultimately I probably had about
forty rolls. All the
rolls were in excellent condition.

THE HOT TUB
The hot tub was built as an in
ground unit in 1981. The basic tub consisted of
a concrete lined hole in the ground.
The final tub was three feet deep and six feet across.
It was poured by hand although a mixer
was used to mix the fifty sacks of cement ready
mix. Each sac weighed eighty pounds.
A double wire mess frame was placed
in the ground and then poured from
above.

THE SAUNA
Built in the early 1980's the
sauna incorporated the washer and dryer into the
design. The main bench of the sauna
was solid and hinged so that the washer and dryer
sat under and within when the sauna
was in use.
The electric heater was purchased
from Sears and was made in Denmark or
Sweden.
The main wall was tongue and groove
cedar planks special ordered from a local
Builders supply.
THE GRAPE ARBOR AND TRELLIS
The grape arbor and trellis situated
in the back yard of the townhome merits
mention. It was designed after a trellis
in the produce department of the supper market.
The two by sixes (possibly eights) were
notched to interlock like building blocks.
Although free standing, the second tier
was tied into the house to prevent it from falling
over onto the building.

$600 in 1974 or 1975. It had been reconditioned
by a fellow
member of the community theater. Maybe
ten years ago I
had the keys refelted at a cost of $200.
The machine was
hardly used the last ten years and only
needed to be tunned
up to be in excellent condition. (Also
had a book on piano
reconditioning to go with it.) I believe
the date of the
instrument was about 1930. Replacement

ORIGINAL ART by Dr. George R. Harker
The question is how to put a price on
the original art that was still held by Dr. Harker
in his Illinois residence. Artist whom
Harker works generally have a “rule of thumb”
pricing schedule which is based on so
much per square inch for the work. The current
figure used on Maui is $2.25 per square
inch.

ORIGINAL ART PRINTS (seven different
original art were chosen to have 250
prints made from each at a cost of approximately
$250 per original.) (Timbertrail lodge
is not illustrated here) Less than fifty
of each print were sold. The balance was taken
from Dr. Harker’s residence and sold
at the auction. A source at the auction says the
entire box of prints sold for $20. The
last signed and number print sold by Dr. Harker
on Maui in December 2000 sold for $60.
Using the retail price of $60 and assuming
only 200 prints of the seven items shown
here the retail value of this art is $84,000.
Undoubtably this is a conservative estimate
given that a higher price could be
commanded for each print as the number
remaining declined.
Some of the published art work of Dr.
Leisure. Unfortunately most of the photographic
records of the original art was with
the original art at Dr. Harker’s residence.

Truck is 1969 Chevy ½ ton with
350 cubic inches,78,000
on the rebuilt, steel crank, automatic
heavy duty
transmission and towing package. All
wheels were heavy
duty rims. Tires were basically brand
new Goodyears
chosen to support the weight of the
one ton camping unit.
The truck had special leaf springs in
addition to coil springs. A Reese type hitch was
installed and various interchangeable
systems could be used depending on the trailer
that needed to be towed. A custom made
step was in place when not towing. The spare
tire was mounted on a special rack attached
to the front of the truck over the grill.
Camper is 1 ton, Honey brand,
in very good shape because it was extensively rebuilt
some five to ten years earlier. It was
specially outfitted to handle all weather conditions.
It carried an extra propane tank internally.
It had an electrical converter installed to
handle the computer equipment that accompanied
Dr. Harker on his numerous trips
across the country. Equipped with a
cell phone the computer could be tied in directly
with the Internet.
A solar charging panel sat on the dash
and kept the battery up even when the truck was
parked and the battery was used to run
computers. The rig was totally equipped and
ready to roll. It was a turnkey operation.
Books on truck stop locations, road maps, and
truck service manuals rounded out the
documents which made the truck the method of
choice for traveling about the US. The
truck had been in virtually every state in the
lower forty-eight.
It is estimated that the cost of finding,
refurbishing and configuring another truck and
camper comparable to this one would
cost in excess of $150,000.

The 1948 Ford Coupe is a unique one of
a kind vehicle. It
was built by Dr. Harker about 1987.
Only the body shell is
from a 48 Ford. The shell is mounted
on the chassis of a
1974 Monte Carlo that has been cut down.
Everything
mechanical is from the Monte Carlo.
The wiring harness,
instrumentation, gas tank and even the
seats are from the
Monte Carlo. The radiator is from a
Dodge.
A number of additional parts were on
hand to further develop the car. All the
components to put in air conditioning
were on hand at the time Mittelberg disposed of
the car.
Harker had most of the basic for a machine
shop. He did the welding, the painting, and
the mechanical work. He had rebuilt
the 350 small block in the 48 Ford. Additionally
he had been into the automatic transmission.
In all the equipment in Harker’s garage
had rebuilt four engines. The engines in the
Pontiac, the Chevy, and the Ford had
all been rebuilt by Harker. Additionally he had
also rebuilt the engine in his son’s
Chevy truck as well.
Given that the car is unique and custom
built by Harker its value is based on the time
and effort to build. A fair price for
the car would be $35,000.
1970 PONTIAC
The engine in the Pontiac had about twenty
thousand on it when sold. Also with the car
were new rugs for the interior. Another
complete 455 engine and transmission were
stored in the garage and disposed of
by Mittelberg.
